Welcome to the Frenchtown Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) page.

The mission of Frenchtown CERT is “supporting our community through education, preparedness, and good works”.

Frenchtown Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) educates the community about disaster preparedness and trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as: preventing accidents, fire safety, light search and rescue, basic medical operation, and building a personalized disaster kit. Working to do the greatest good for the greatest number of people, we support our community and first responders before, during, and after disasters and events.

Courage To Act Class

This class is open to the public and taught by trained emergency responders. You will learn basic fire safety and fire extinguisher use. You will also be taught basic first aid techniques in identifying the “3 Killer” (Airway Obstruction, Severe Bleeding, and Shock). The class will be held at Frenchtown Fire Department Station 1 located at 640 North Monroe St.  To sign up Click Here.

Things We're Trained In - Offer Our Community

Fire Fighter Rehab

CERT provides rehab for first responders through offering protection from weather extremes, nourishment, and hydration

CPR, AED and First Aid Trained

All CERT members are CPR/AED certified and trained in First Aid

Disaster Response

CERT prepares the average citizen with the skills necessary to safely assist others after disasters

Event Assistance

CERT actively participates in multiple community events, such as: Sterling State Park Fireworks, Relay for Life, Food Drives, Vaccination Clinics, and several other events

Community Education

Free training and education is provided to assist CERT members and the community in being safe and prepared

Search and Rescue

Members are trained in Search and Rescue and have assisted with multiple missing person cases
